Olver. Fifteen years ago, when my former parish tried using the EOW, I was uncomfortable with it, and only by buying my own copy at the diocesan bookstore, and parsing the wording, did I discover what was deleted. None of the EOW prefatory material explains what is being done. I complained that reference to Jesus as "Lord" was being systematically suppressed -- and my then rector DENIED it.
